Caroline & Michael

Wishing Caroline and Michael a beautiful wedding tomorrow despite the forecast of rain. Even if it does, I'm sure they will have an amazing time! It was such a pleasure working with Caroline on her letterpressed, Asian-inspired, butterfly design. The peony that the butterfly lands on was blind embossed into the paper.  Their English invitation was translated into Chinese and printed on the reverse side...also via letterpress and with no show-through...thanks to Sarah from Shed Letterpress and her artisan printing methods!

Yvonne's Baby Shower

Though it's very belated, I wanted to share the stationery that I designed for my baby shower last summer. The theme was "library books" in honor of my very first job—working at the library! The invitation was designed to look like an old library check out card and the escort cards were "library cards". The favors were custom designed bookmarks. Flowers were by Designs by Ahn. It was a fantastic day!

Featured on The Knot's Chinese Wedding Site 2/2011

It's so nice to know that all the hard work that went into planning all the details for your wedding is recognized...especially by the editors of Wedding Channel and now, The Knot. My wedding is being featured on The Knot's "Chinese Weddings" niche site. It is going to go live on The Knot China too! I'll post it when it does. Here is a photo of our cake that was made for us by Bridgewaters. I supplied them with camera-ready artwork of our "double happiness" and "Mazel Tov" logos along with a sketched drawing of what I wanted and they created it! The red fondant ribbons were supposed to mimic the buttons that were on my traditional Chinese cheong-sam. The cake topper were ceramic "dragon" and "phoenix" sculptures that I ordered from China.

The Knot Best of Weddings 2011!

We're 1 of 10 chosen for "Best of Weddings 2011" by The Knot!
Look for us under "Invitations & Stationers"! Thanks so much to the editors of The Knot, our clients who have made it so easy to wake up and go to work these last 6 1/2 years and to our vendors who helped bring our designs to life and for making us look so fabulous!

Nonpareil Magazine

We were asked by Lindsay Landman Events to participate in an online wedding editorial feature for Nonpareil Magazine. Lindsay asked us to design menus, place cards and table numbers to be used in her Art Nouveau-themed table top designs. The entire article was produced beautifully. New York-based wedding photographer, Sophia Negron shot the story.

If you want to view the entire feature, you can visit the online link here: http://www.nonpareilmag.com/issues/issue-005/issue-05-a-spectrum-of-inspiration/

Designs By Ahn

I received a sneak peek today of the centerpiece being created for a baby shower. Victoria Ahn, of Designs By Ahn, emailed this to me today. The client requested something in brown, creams, greens and a hint of blue and she totally delivered here with this very simple arrangement placed in a rustic wooden toolbox.

Unique & Fun invitation

Although I didn't design this piece, I thought it was so unique and clever. It so clearly told the story through simple typography about a couple who literally traveled great lengths to get to the altar! Thank you to my friend Sharon for sharing this with me! My question is..."What size envelope did this go in?" =)

Baby Announcement Designs

I haven't been thinking about promoting my baby announcements over the last few years, but with me being preggo and all, it's become something that is back on the front burner these days...or at least back on the stove!

Here are some designs that we've created for our clients over the years...Our Chinese and Western astrology series has been a hit. We incorporate photos along with blurbs about what it means to be born the "Year of the Tiger" or under the astrological sign "Pisces" etc...

We also have simpler designs that just focus on photos of the baby in a very simple grid design. We still manage to customize the look with color and design elements along with cultural (addition of Chinese names) as well.

Yvonne & Jason's Wedding

It's been over 9 months since the wedding, but I figure it's better to post the photos now before our anniversary!

For our wedding and our invitations...I wanted to incorporate my Chinese and my husband's Jewish heritages. Red and gold were the key colors for our wedding.

The invitations were printed in English on one side and Chinese on the back on 600gsm coverstock. We also had a custom wax seal made to close the wrap for the invitation. On the back of that, we had in Hebrew, "I am my beloved's. And my beloved is mine."
Each piece was beautifully letterpressed by The Applecart Press based in Maine. The wrap was blind debossed by GM Printing in Long Island City.

I've also chosen to include images of our fabulous flowers (Designs By Ahn www.designsbyahn.com) and photos from our reception where I designed all the table markers, menus, favors, escort card signs etc.

The beautiful photos were taken by Shira Weinberger.
